Another body of work I've been creating on the side is a portrait series of women. It’s an extension of my research, and documents some of the female writers, artists, and creative types of all stripes, who were part of the modernist avant-garde in the first few decades of the twentieth century. The series sheds light on their later years, and I’ve painted them in old age. The exhibition is on view in the campus gallery of University of Cincinnati Clermont College, through March 28, to coincide with Women's History Month. View the portraits here

Bared exhibition
I have an older painting included in Bared, a group exhibition at the Diamond Gallery in Morgantown, WV. Curated by Sally Deskins, it features artists from the corresponding anthology and the work explores feminist themes through imagery related to women's breasts. Opening reception is March 3 and the show runs through March 24.

Solo exhibition at Fitton Center for the Creative Arts
My work will be featured in the Bevre North Gallery at Fitton Center for Creative Arts in historic downtown Hamilton, just north of Cincinnati. This current body of work includes mixed media paintings, works on paper and encaustic monoprints as Arbitrary Language, a solo exhibition that's part of Forged and Fired. Carlos Varela, the Poet of Havana at Woodstock Film Festival
During the Woodstock Film Festival 2015, I attended the screening of Poet of Havana, a documentary about Cuban poet, songwriter and activist, Carlos Varela at the Ulster Performing Arts Center. After the screening, Varela was joined for a Q&A with director Ron Chapman and Jackson Brown. As a finale, Varela performed, with Brown joining him for several songs. wwww.thepoetofhavana.com

Collage painting workshop with kids
During my artist residency in Ireland I had the opportunity to do a collage painting workshop with local primary school students. The kids had some really incredible approaches and outcomes integrating paint and collage.
