Spatial Matters is a series of collage drawings exploring both the resilience and fragility of the natural world as it’s breached by an ever-growing consumer culture. Collage media is comprised of discarded paper scraps, shards of plastic, fabric remnants, and torn signage, usually nothing more than litter picked up from the ground. I regard each image to be a visual poem, reflective of the detritus of our human lives as it permeates and transforms nature in the most unnatural of ways. My work is ultimately an attempt to capture the peculiar dichotomy between the disposable goods we consume and the natural world we need.
